My Kilimanjaro summit attempt is still over a month away, but I have been feeling lazy the last few weeks. As most of you know, I am a little bit of a gym junkie. Being away from the iron for this long is a little out of the ordinary for me.
Today I had the privilege of climbing the Waterberg Plateau in Namibia. It was great exercise and the view was well worth the climb up. We are only 200 kilometres from Etosha yet the landscape has changed so much. From a white desert plain to a red cliff surrounded by green trees and colourful birds. Spitting snakes, dung beetles, safari ants, rock hyrax and dik dik were some of the wildlife we spotted on the climb.
To top it all off, our route down went by a mountain resort and we had a dip in a flagstone pool to cool off. Yes, I am definitely giving my expedition last year a run for its money.
