I have always wanted to see Victoria Falls. I have seen it featured in countless documentaries, including Planet Earth and many others. Standing in awe, getting drenched in mist, I quickly realized that I had seen exactly nothing yet.

I had a chance to photograph the falls from a number of angles. The most impressive was the view from across the gorge. The mist faded the falls out of visibility and made for some very nice shots and created a number of rainbows. The mist was unreal. It did not feel like mist, more like a torrential downpour. The poncho I rented for 5,000 Zambian Kwacha ($1.10 USD) did nothing but channel the rushing water down my back in a more uniform line.
The next morning, we had a chance to view the falls from Livingstone Island, from the top down. This was the “Blood Pumping” view. You can feel the thunder of Mother Nature and I could now see the true force that pulled me under the day before. I was served Eggs Benedict and Zambian Tea on Livingstone Island followed by a swim at the falls edge. 110 metres straight down to the “Boiling Pot” whirlpool and I was a few inches away from the edge, in the water!
