After spending a night in Dubai to recharge, my first destination is Australia. It is one of my favourite countries on earth but I am not doing much touring here, as I saw almost the entire country only two years ago. I was just planning on visiting some relatives and catching up with some friends while I am here.  Aside from seeing some of the Pateras family down under, I have already had an amazing experience. My uncle’s trucking company was commissioned to bring fresh water to flood victims and relief workers. The floods have affected a large part of the country and unless you have been living under a rock, you have seen the images all over the news.  My uncle wanted to drive the load out to Bendigo personally and I went along for the ride.  We took a “B-Double” loaded with 34 palates of bottled water to the drop off point and I felt like we really made a difference. I didn’t get to photograph any of the floods as the roads into the areas are either washed out or closed.  The rain has obviously been very bad over the last few months here, but the weather has improved tremendously since I have arrived. I have not seen a drop of rain in the week that I have been here. I can’t help but think that my wedding weather record had a part in that!
