This past weekend was a great experience, even for the most seasoned veteran wedding photos.  The day started like any other beautiful summer wedding at the brides house. The addition of a vintage Chevy Camaro definitely added some fresh flavour to the images.  The icing on the cake (pardon the pun) was when we arrived to shoot the grooms prep. Soon after the groomsmen all introduced themselves, I was informed that I would be accompanying them in the  “Limo” on the way to the ceremony and the reception (both held in the Atlantis Complex at Ontario Place). What I found out shortly after is that this “Limo” was unlike any Limo ride I had ever taken.  The groom is a Toronto Police Officer and had some friends at the Toronto Police Marine unit arrange for two Police Skiffs to take us down the lake to the Atlantis. I thought it was going to be a leisurely cruise down the Harbourfront, but I was WRONG!  I was loaded into one skiff and the groom and groomsmen were taken in an identical boat alongside, tuxes and all. The idea was that I would shoot them from my vantage point on the other skiff. When we hit open water, I was shooting exactly nothing. We hit around 110 kilometres per hour, hauling down the coast, flying by people enjoying their afternoon on their boats. Sirens blaring over the engines running flat out, I snapped shots of the other skiff launching over the wake we were producing. Even under these extreme conditions, I managed to get some amazing shots of their skiff in the air and also some shots with the Toronto skyline in the background.  Before I got off the boat, I asked the sergeant if they would have done this if the groom was not a police officer.
