This past weekend I shot an extremely extravagant wedding. I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement portraits a while back, so I already knew they were a fun couple and had a ton of energy. When a couple is really into their photos, you can push them much harder for more edgy and creative shots.
I had a lot of time to work with the couple in the morning, before the ceremony, so this gave me a chance to loosen them up and get them comfortable before really pushing them during the formal shoot later that day.
Because the couple is of Armenian descent, there were a lot of traditions and dances that needed to be captured. All throughout the day there was dancing, starting at the brides house in the morning and continuing at full throttle between each meal course at the reception.
The reception at the Embassy Grand was opulent. Their monogram was literally on everything! They even had their own bottles of water made with their names and initials on them. They achieved a level of class and creativity that impressed me as well as the two other photographers from Boston Avenue that were working with me. I spent a good portion of the day just shooting the details. I think I spent 30 minutes shooting the wedding rings alone!
At the end of the night as we were trucking the lights and gear out of the hall, the wedding coordinator informed us that this wedding is going to be submitted as an exclusive feature in one of the national wedding magazines. Bonus!
